Women’s Emmaus Retreat

Please pray for all women attending and serving at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Emmaus Retreat October 18 – 20, 2019

What is a St. Francis of Assisi Emmaus Retreat?
A St. Francis of Assisi (Lenoir, North Carolina) Emmaus Retreat is . . .

  • based on the Gospel of Luke 24:13-35
  • designed to help renew and deepen your relationship with God
  • an opportunity to spend time with our Lord
  • a time to open your heart to the Holy Spirit
  • a chance to discover or rediscover Jesus in your life
  • an event to learn the importance of ministering to others, especially women to women
  • a parish led retreat for groups of women.

The Emmaus Retreat is a wonderful opportunity to gift yourself with time to reflect on your spiritual life and well-being.  The retreat is also a time to make new or renew old friendships while recognizing Jesus anew in the breaking of the bread, as did the disciples Jesus encountered on the road to Emmaus.

Who should attend the Emmaus Retreat?
This retreat is for all women!  Retreatants do not need to be Catholic.

CCC605  At the end of the parable of the lost sheep Jesus recalled that God’s love excludes no one: “So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.”  He affirms that he came “to give his life as a ransom for many;” this last term is not restrictive, but contrasts the whole of humanity with the unique person of the redeemer who hands himself over to save us.  The Church, following the apostles, teaches that Christ died for all men without exception:   “There is not, never has been, and never will be a single human being for whom Christ did not suffer.”  (Catechism of the Catholic Church – (http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/what-we-believe/catechism/catechism-of-the-catholic-church/epub/index.cfm#)

What happens during the Emmaus Retreat?
The retreat is filled with times for listening, sharing, reflecting, journaling, praying, meditating, and singing.

What is the benefit of attending the Emmaus Retreat?
The benefit of attending the retreat will be personal to you.  Many women experience spiritual healing, a relief from emotional burdens, and the joys of being loved unconditionally.

How do I register?  Registration for the retreat is now closed.

Grow closer to Jesus as you journey to Emmaus!
