Diocese of Charlotte 50th Anniversary

Closing Mass of the Jubilee Anniversary Year

The 50th anniversary year will conclude Thursday, January 12, 2023, with a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration and Mass, celebrated by Bishop Peter Jugis. The Holy Hour will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the Mass at 7 p.m.

The closing celebrations will take place in the temporary Chapel of the Two Hearts (located inside the Family Life Center adjacent to St. Patrick Cathedral), as the cathedral is undergoing renovation work. A reception will follow. St. Patrick Cathedral is located at 1621 Dilworth Road East in Charlotte. The Family Life Center is located behind the rectory.

Seating and parking is extremely limited, so people are encouraged to arrive early.

There is a brief video of the history of our diocese – dating back to days of circuit-riding priests and the Carolina Gold Rush. Produced as part of our 50th anniversary celebration, it is the latest in a series of commemorative materials the diocese is creating this year to inform and inspire the faithful as we celebrate our “Faith More Precious Than Gold.”  Click on the link to watch the video:  History of the Diocese of Charlotte
