St. Francis Faith Formation Program

We encourage parents to enroll their children each year, not just for the Sacramental years. There is so much to learn about our faith, as you know, and ongoing faith formation is key to nurturing your child’s faith.

First Holy Communion: Year 1 & Year 2
First Holy Communion preparation is a two-year process. Children typically begin Year 1 at the age of 6.

Nurturing the Faith: Years 3, 4 & 5
The children will continue to grow in Faith, knowledge and understanding. These few years that we have with them are short, and so important in preparing them to enter fully into communion with the Church through the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Confirmation is a 3-Year Process
1.  Pre-Confirmation (formerly known as grade 6): Pre-Confirmation is a pre-requisite to entering Confirmation, Year 1
2.  Confirmation Year 1
3.  Confirmation Year 2

Safe Environment Training ~ Help Protect All of God’s Children

All parish volunteers are required to be enrolled in the Diocesan Safe Environment Program.

Attention All Ministry Volunteers: Virtus is changing to CMG Connect. The Diocese of Charlotte is enhancing its Safe Environment program. All who volunteer or work in the Diocese of Charlotte will need to be set up and certified through CMG Connect. Existing Virtus users: Watch for an email from the diocese containing more information. Please follow the instructions in the email to set up your CMG Connect account.

New Ministry Volunteers: You will receive information shortly from the parish office about completing the Safe Environment program requirements. Everyone has a role to play in protecting children. North Carolina law requires all adults to immediately report suspected child abuse by anyone to law enforcement agencies.  If you know or suspect that a minor (person under 18) has been abused, please call 9-1-1 or contact local law enforcement.

Also, if you have information about possible sexual abuse or misconduct by any clergy, employee or volunteer of the Diocese of Charlotte, report concerns securely and anonymously 24/7 over the phone or online: 1-888-630-5929 or www.RedFlagReporting.com/RCDOC.
